WordPress.com – Part One

Course Description:

This course will teach you the basics of blogging and introduce you to WordPress.com. The result of this class will be a community-focused blog on WordPress.com.

This is a self-guided course with a feedback component. Have a question on a Lesson? Post a question and I’ll answer it. Try that with a For Dummy’s book!

This course is for you if any of these are true:

• You’re very new to blogging and eager to learn.
• Are transitioning from another blog platform like Blogger and want to learn the basics of WordPress.
• You’ve already tried learning from a book but need an extra level of interactivity.
• Want to learn how to share your blog content with the Social Web.
• You want to learn how to create a community-focused blog site. That is the theme for this class.
• You want to learn how to blog and share with other people in your household. You are allowed to share your login account, PDFs, video links, and blog posts with other members of your household.
• You want to learn how to blog and share with other people in your organization or company. Please contact me (see form below) about special pricing for group sales.

This course is not for you if:

• You’re a professional blogger looking for advanced tips. The good news is, you can find tons of tips and tutorials on this blog.
• You’re only interested in learning how to set up a WordPress.org custom site. We use WordPress.com for this class. See here to learn the difference.

Course information includes:

• Instructional blog posts,
• PDFs, and
• video tutorials
• Access to instructor via the class site and Twitter.

At the end of the class, every student will have their own nice blog.

The class may be taken all at once (which is recommended in order to
build a good blogging habit) but students will have access to course
material for 3 months.

The registration fee is $225 USD.  Shortly after payment, the student will receive a username and password via email to access a secured password-protected class site.  The class site is the "home base" for all class materials.
