I was pleased to finally receive the “Suggestions For You” feature since I’ve been hearing about it all week. My initial impressions were:

  1. Dang, I thought I was following some of those people already
  2. Um, I recently unfollowed some of those folks
  3. There were several people who showed up frequently in the “Followed By:” field, but they weren’t people I engage with much
  4. There are a lot of celebrities on this list
  5. These are real people, not feeds

The new Tweetdeck experimental version uses the “User Streams API” from Twitter and it is turbo charged. It’s so fast that my All Friends stream of 7,724 people is almost a blur.

YouTube Adds New iPad-Friendly HTML5 Video Player

YouTube announced a new HTML5 video player that works on the Apple iPad device.

I tested the new player against the regular YouTube player on an iPad and the new player still needs some work. The new player takes a longer to load, has some funky behavior (a duplicate window appears below the player), and the screen is bouncy when the player isn’t set to fullscreen.
